Did someone say Salmonflies? Yep, the big bugs are out, especially below the  Warren Bridge just outside of Pinedale, WY.  Pteronarcys Californica is the giant of the bug world and trout love to see them.  This hatch is localized on the Green and isn’t as prolific as some other rivers, but it’s enough to get the fish’s attention.  Golden Stones are also out and this hatch is more intense and lasts longer. Oh yeah, there are BWO’s, Caddis,  and Flying Ants flying about, which we would typically extoll the virtues of, but it’s hard to with Stoneflies flying. These are great options for a dropper in a double nymph rig.  The streamer bite is very good before 9am, so get there as early as possible. Flows are at 700 cfs currently and are dropping quickly.  We may only be able to float the Green during June this year, so book your trip soon! Best flies: #4 JJ’s Special, #6-8 Rubberlegs, #4-8 Water Walker (Orange, Green, Pink, Purple), #14-16 Sparkle Pupa, #16-18 Lightening Bug, #14 San Juan Worms
